Have you ever wondered why your dog has to be vaccinated every year, yet humans dont! At least thats changing to every 3 years. However, there is a blood test called a titre test, which can determine if you pooch still has the recommended optimal level of antibodies in his/her system from past vaccinations. My tiny Chihuahua, Maximus, has had a titre test and his results were above optimal levels, so he has enough antibodies in his system, and doesnt require a booster vaccination for Parvovirus or Distempter at present. In a couple of years, I will have him titre tested again. www.vetpath.com.au is a laboratory in W.A. which can do titre tests for your vet. Youtube has a compelling video “small dog vaccination danger alert”.
